본 연구는 자궁 내막증 여성의 자궁내막 증상 스트레스, 불확실성과 삶의 질 정도를 알아보고 이들 간의 관계를 알아보고자 시도된 서술적 상관관계 연구이다. 연구대상자는 부산과 경남 지역에 위치한 7개 종합병원의 산부인과에서 자궁내막증으로 진단받고
통원 치료 중인 121명으로 자가보고식 설문지를 이용하였으며, 자료수집 기간은 2004년 8월부터 2005년 1월까지 였다. 수집된
자료는 SPSS 프로그램을 이용하여 빈도, 평균, Pearson correlation coefficient, t-test, ANOVA로 분석하였다.
본 연구결과 대상자의 자궁 내막 증상 스트레스(TSD) 정도는 평균 3.26점이었으며, 23개 증상 중 TSD가 가장 높은 증상은
‘월경시 통증’으로 평균 6.23±2.68점이었다. 불확실성 정도는 평균 56.6±12.5점, 삶의 질은 38.3±4.8점이었다. 일반적 특성과
증상 스트레스, 불확실성, 삶의 질과의 관계에서 유의한 차이를 보인 항목은 커피 섭취 유무, 결혼 상태, 월수입, 음주 유무, 연령이었으며, 질병 특성과 증상 스트레스, 불확실성, 삶의 질과의 관계에서 유의한 차이를 보인 변수는 진단 후 기간과 가족력이었다.
결론적으로 본 연구에서 자궁내막증 증상 스트레스, 불확실성과 삶의 질은 유의한 상관관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 즉
증상스트레스가 높을수록 불확실성은 높아지고, 삶의 질은 낮아 졌으며, 불확실성이 높을수록 삶의 질은 낮아지는 것으로
나타났다.
본 연구 결과를 통하여 자궁내막증 여성들은 신체적으로 다양한 증상들을 경험하고 이러한 증상은 불확실성과 삶의 질에 영향을 준다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 따라서 간호사는 대상자의 증상호소에 대해 신중한 자세로 접근해야 하며 본 연구결과를 바탕으로 자궁내막증 여성을 위한 지지 간호 중재 프로그램 개발을 제언하는 바이다.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to explore the relationships among women’s total symptom distress, uncertainty and quality of life in women with endometriosis.
Method: A total of 121 women who had been diagnosed with endometriosis was given a questionnaire. Data was collected from August 2004 to January 2005. The data was analyzed by frequency, mean, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient, and multiple linear regression analysis using SPSS WIN 10.0 software.
Result: The mean score of TSD was 3.23. ’Menstrual cramping’ showed the highest score. The mean score of uncertainty, and quality of life of the subject was 56.6, and 38.3 respectively. TSD was significantly related with coffee intake and uncertainty was significantly related with marital status, economic status, alcohol intake, diagnosis after period, and family history. Quality of life was significantly related with age, and dysmenorrhea. There were significant relationships between total symptom distress and uncertainty, and quality of life. There were significant relationship between uncertainty and quality of life.
Conclusion: Endometriosis symptoms showed a significant relationship with uncertainty and quality of life. This study will help to manage women with endometriosis.
